What are the search rules?

The search engine supports Arabic and English text (Latin letters). Your search string may contain Arabic and Latin words at the same time.

When you use the quick search form in the left bar, you must enter a valid search keyword and the search engine will look for ANY of the keywords entered in the search string.

If you use the general advanced search, you must enter either a valid keyword or select a country.

Use a space character to separate the words in the search string.

The keyword search string works as follows:
  • When the "Any Keyword" option is selected, the search engine will look for any of the keywords in the search string.
    Example: If you enter "car mobile" as your search string, the search result will include all the items that contain the word "car" OR the word "mobile".

  • When the "All Keywords" option is selected, all the kewords in keyword string must exist in your item, otherwise it will not be selected.
    Example: If you enter "car mobile" as your search string, the search result will include all the items that contain the word "car" AND the word "mobile". Items that contain "car" but not "mobile" or vise versa will not be selected.

  • When the "Exact Phrase" option is selected, the search engine will look for items that contain the exact keyword string
    Example: If you enter "red car" as your search string, the search result will include all the items that contain the word "red car". Items that contain "car", "red" or "car red" will not be selected.

  • When using "Any Keyword" and "All Keywords", words separated by the space character will be treated as separate keywords. Any keyword that's less than 3 characters in length will be ignored.
    Example 1: If you enter "a car" as your search string, the charater "a" will be ignored and the search engine will look for the word "car" only.
    Example 2: If you enter "a b c", all the keywords will be ignored and it will be considered an invalid search string.

What if I forget my password?
If you have forgotten your password, click on the link "Forgot your password?" in the login form to request your password. In the password requesting page, enter your user name or email address in the appropriate form and click "Send My Password". Your password will be sent by email to the email address you had registered with.

How do I update my personal information?
To update your personal information, click "My eMazadat" from the menu at the top of the page. This will take you to My eMazadat page (you will need to logon if you haven't already logged on). Click Account Manager then Update Personal Information. Modify your information then click Update Information.


Why do I need to register?
While you can browse and search for free, to bid and sell you need to be a member. Registration helps us maintain a safe environment for selling and buying. Remember that registration is free.

Why do you need to verify my email address?
Email is our main way for communication with users. So we need to verify email addresses to ensure better communication and smoother transactions between the sellers and buyers.

After you register, a confirmation message with your user name and password will be emailed to the email address you entered. As a result, if you do not enter your correct email address, you will not be able to login.

We also send email notifications with auction results when something happens with an auction you are involved in. Also the email is the method buyers can contact you (while maintaining the seller privacy) to request buying your classified items or to ask for more information about your auctions or classifieds.


What is relisting alert?
The relisting alert is a notification service from eMazadat.com that you can turn ON or OFF at any time. This service keeps you informed whenever any of the auctions you are bidding on are relisted. An auction may be relisted (reopened) by the auciton seller if the auction has been closed with no winner.
